5 ILCS 260/7

If, upon any examination by either of said judges, he is of opinion that for any reason the bond of any officer is insufficient, he shall cause to be issued from his court a summons to such officer to appear before said court on a day fixed therein, to show cause why he should not be required to give a new bond with sufficient surety.
