KRS 211.287: Funding by Department for Public Health of position relating to student

health services.

(1) The Department for Public Health shall provide fifty percent (50%) of the costs for

the position created in KRS 156.501(2). The Department for Public Health m ay

enter into a contractual arrangement, such as a Memorandum of Agreement, with

the Department of Education to share the costs.

(2) The Department for Public Health shall provide access, information, assistance, and

support to the education school nurse c onsultant necessary to assist and support the

Department of Education to fulfill the duties specified in KRS 156.501.

(3) It is the intent of the General Assembly that there be no duplication of services or

duties between the Department of Education and th e Department for Public Health

relating to school health services and that the position created in KRS 156.501(2)

serve as a technical advisor and liaison among state agencies, local school districts,

and local health departments.
