KRS 304.29-271: Annual license.

    Societies which are now authorized to transact business in this state may continue to do

    business until May 1 next succeeding January 1, 1989. The authority of the societies, and

    all societies hereafter licensed, may be renewed annually, but in all cases s hall terminate

    on the succeeding April 30. However, a license so issued shall continue in full force and

    effect until the new license be issued or specifically refused. For each license or renewal,

    the society shall, prior to May 1, pay to the commissioner a fee as specified in Subtitle 4

    of this chapter. A duly certified copy or duplicate of the license shall be prima facie

    evidence that the licensee is a fraternal benefit society within the meaning of this subtitle.
