When bond required.

The clerk, before making the indorsements required by paragraph (d) of subsection (1) of

KRS 426.551, shall require the person claiming right thereto to file an affidavit showing

his right. If the affiant state that he is a personal representative or successor of a decedent,

the clerk shall also require him to file a copy, properly certified, of his appointment as

such by a competent tribunal in the United States ; and, unless the appointment was made

in Kentucky, the clerk shall also require of him a covenant, with good surety, that he will

dispose, according to law, of any property which he may receive upon the execution. If

the affiant state that he is a devisee of a decedent, the clerk shall require him to file a copy

of the will, certified by a county clerk in this state in which the will or a copy is recorded.
