KRS 45.242: Unauthorized allotment obligations.

No head of a budget unit or assistant designated by him shall approve any advice of

employment, purchase order, contract requisition for reservation of funds, or letter of

travel authorization request for travel outside of Kentucky that will involve an

expenditure of any sum in excess of the unencumbered balance of the allotment to which

the resulting expenditure will be chargeable.
