KRS 65.304: Board of trustees -- Membership -- Annual report.

  1. KRS Chapter 65

(1) A board shall be established to control and manage the affairs of the district. The

board shall:

(a) Represent a multicounty region;

(b) Comply with the provisions of KRS Chapter 65A;

(c) Agree, in writing, to the use or distribution of the revenue generat ed from a

special ad valorem tax levied under KRS 65.302;

(d) Agree, in writing, to the collection and distribution of the revenue generated

from an occupational license fee imposed under KRS 65.302; and

(e) Operate in accordance with the following:

1. The board membership shall consist of at least one (1) trustee from each

local government that is a party to the interlocal agreement;

2. The trustees shall serve staggered terms of four (4) years;

3. The chair of the board shall be elected by the trustees from among its

membership;

4. The board may appoint a secretary, an executive director, and other

officials and employees who need not be members of the board;

5. A quorum for the transacting of the business of the board shall consist of

a majority of its membership;

6. A trustee of the board may be removed as provided by KRS 65.007; and

7. Vacancies of the board shall be filled in the same manner as the original

appointments.

(2) No later than October 1 of each year, the Department for Local Government shall

compile the information received by the board pursuant to KRS Chapter 65A and

report it to the Legislative Research Commission for referral to the Interim Joint

Committee on Appropriations and Revenue.
