Sec. 17749.

Notwithstanding any provision of this act or any rule promulgated under this act, a wholesale distributor or pharmacist may dispense a diagnostic pharmaceutical agent or a therapeutic pharmaceutical agent to a licensed optometrist for subsequent administration to optometric patients, if the optometrist provides the wholesale distributor or pharmacist with the number of the optometrist's certification of qualification to administer diagnostic pharmaceutical agents and the number of the optometrist's certification of qualification to administer and prescribe therapeutic pharmaceutical agents.

As used in this section, "therapeutic pharmaceutical agent" and "diagnostic pharmaceutical agent" mean those terms as defined in section 17401.
