Mich. Comp. Laws § 333.2614: Duties of department generally.

Sec. 2614.

The department shall:

Establish procedures to identify the circumstances under which, the places at which, the persons from whom, and the methods by which a person may secure that data, including the procedures governing requests, and the review established pursuant to section 2639.

Prescribe standards for the publication of health-related data reported pursuant to this code which will encourage characteristics including accuracy, validity, reliability, completeness, and comparability; and advise users as to the status of the quality of the data.

Prescribe the contents of forms or authorize the use of standardized forms for the collection of health-related data. The content and form shall be consistent with related local and federal requirements.

Prescribe standards for the maintenance and preservation of health-related data.

Establish procedures to govern the withholding and release of data as required by section 2637.
