33-9-102: Professionals as members, stockholders, or subscribers of mutual, stock, or reciprocal insurers.

A health care provider or other professional may be a member of a mutual insurer, a stockholder of a stock insurer, or a subscriber of a reciprocal insurer, whether the mutual, stock, or reciprocal insurer is domestic, foreign, or alien, for the purpose of protecting the provider or professional by insurance against loss, damage, or expense incident to a claim arising out of a breach of contract, pecuniary or personal injury to or death of any person, or other loss as the result of negligence in rendering professional services by any health care provider or other professional.
