Chapter 1: Building Code

Buildings and spaces shall be classified in the institutional occupancy group when persons suffering from physical limitations because of health or age are harbored therein for care or treatment; when persons are detained therein for penal or correctional purposes; or when the liberty of the incarcerated individuals is restricted. The institutional occupancy group consists of sub groups H-1 and H-2.
