Tex. Special District Local Laws Code § 1005.055: QUALIFICATIONS FOR OFFICE.

(a) To be a candidate for or to serve as a director, a person must be:

(1) a resident of the district; and

(2) a qualified voter.

(b) An employee of the district or an employee's spouse, child, parent, or parent-in-law may not serve as director.
