Utah Code § 75E-2-303: State grant requirements.

(1) Except as provided in Subsection (2), the department may not award a grant of state funds to an entity subject to, and not in compliance with, the reporting requirements described in Subsection 75E-2-210(5).

(2)

(a) The department may award a grant to an entity under Section 75E-2-306 even if the entity is not in compliance with the reporting requirements described in Subsection 75E-2-210(5).

(b) Subsection (1) does not apply to the law enforcement reporting requirements for certain firearm data described in Section 53-25-502.

(3) The department may not award a grant of state funds to an entity subject to the requirements described in Sections 53-21-102 and 53-21-104.3, if the department has determined, after receiving a recommendation described in Subsection 75E-3-202(1)(i)(ii) from the Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice, that the entity is not eligible to receive state grant funds under this section.
