3VAC5-70-30: Sacramental wine; purchase orders; permits; applications for permits; use of sacramental wine

A. Purchase orders for sacramental wine shall be on separate order forms prescribed by the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (authority) and provided at cost if supplied by the authority.

B. Sales for sacramental purposes shall be only upon permits issued by the authority without cost and on which the name of the wholesaler authorized to make the sale is designated.

C. Requests for permits by a religious congregation shall be in writing and executed by an officer of the congregation and shall designate the quantity of wine and the name of the wholesaler from whom the wine shall be purchased.

Wine purchased for sacramental purposes by a religious congregation shall not be used for any other purpose.
