The Shelby County Work Release Commission, created by subpart 1, shall now be known as the Shelby County Community Corrections Commission, hereinafter referred to as the commission, which shall retain all the enumerated powers of the original Shelby County Work Release Commission and shall oversee and operate all programs, services, and administrative functions of the Shelby County Community Corrections. The number of members comprising the commission shall be seven, appointed by, and serving at the pleasure of the Shelby County Commission. In appointing the commission, the Shelby County Commission shall appoint one member recommended by each of the following: The Shelby County Sheriff, the Shelby County District Attorney, and the Shelby County Public Defender. Each member shall hold office until his or her successor has been appointed by the Shelby County Commission. The commission shall have the full authority to implement this subpart and superintend all administrative functions, services, and programs of Shelby County Community Corrections. The commission shall select from its membership a president and other officers as needed, and may appoint an executive director, who shall serve at the pleasure of the commission. The commission shall make and publish its own rules for the conduct of its affairs. Commission meetings shall be held at least once a quarter, at the call of the president, or upon the request of any three commission members.
